My Story

I don't hear an obstacle. I hear my parents.

My mom was eight months pregnant with me when she and my dad boarded a plane out of Ukraine. They were 21, refugees, with no English and no plan beyond get there.

They started over the way most immigrants do — quietly, exhausted, learning the language one word at a time. Eventually they did the thing they came here to do: they bought a home.

That house is the reason I do this work. Not metaphorically. Literally. I watched two people who started with nothing build a life around four walls, in a country that didn't know their names. So when someone tells me they don't think they can qualify, or the bank already said no, or they're self-employed and the paperwork is a mess — I don't hear an obstacle. I hear my parents.

Buying a home is one of the hardest things most people will ever do. It's also one of the most important. I help people do it — especially the ones who've been told they can't.
